Hello everybody!

Today I am thrilled to announce BETA version of Libre Workspace 26.2.
The release of 26.2 is planned for the 8th of April 2026.

Everyone is welcome to test out the new libre workspace version and to share feedback in this thread or the issues section.
To test out this new version, you can switch non-production systems to the “testing” branch.

You can do this by changing stable to testing inside the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/libre-workspace-stable.list and running a normal update afterwards.

New Features & Backup Enhancements

  • SSH Backup Support: Added a dedicated form and functionality for automated backups via SSH, providing more off-site storage options.

  • Local Email Handling: Refactored email configuration to support Postfix for reliable local email sending.

Addon & Module Management

  • Addon Update System: You can now update addons directly via API Call, making it easier to stay current with the latest features.

  • Hardware Requirement Checks: The system now checks for required root disk space and RAM before installing modules to prevent failed setups.

  • Rebuild Functionality: Added the ability to rebuild software modules and addons directly from the UI, simplifying troubleshooting and recovery.

  • Docker Optimization: Hardened Docker Compose commands and added “quiet mode” to setup scripts to reduce log noise and dpkg errors.

Security & Authentication

  • Official OIDC Support: Switched to the official Nextcloud OIDC plugin for better stability and group provisioning.

  • Improved 2FA: Refactored the 2-Factor Authentication system to use Redis for device challenges and random appendix management.

  • Secret Key Management: Added better management for SECRET_KEY and automated patching for portal configurations. (Django internals)

Infrastructure & UX

  • Caddy Enhancements: Optimized Caddy configurations to mitigate Nextcloud admin messages and improve performance.

  • Samba AD Improvements: Improved Samba DC installation scripts and added documentation for raising AD functional levels.

  • Network Visibility: Enhanced IP address retrieval to filter out Docker interfaces, ensuring the dashboard shows the correct host addresses.

  • UI/UX Refinement: Cleaned up the dashboard layout, improved dropdown accessibility, and fixed german/english translations for many forms.

Hi Jean, great stuff auf Twitch, danke.

Nextcloud funktioniert und die Dashboard-Kachel wird angezeigt.

Allerdings wird in https://portal.int.de/unix/module_management das Modul als nicht installiert angezigt.
Auch bei “Vollautomatische Updates” erscheint Nextcloud nicht mehr.

Mache gleiche Beobachtung wie juri. Bei Aufruf der Admin-Oberfläche kommt Error 500.

Bei Error 500 Hilft mir immer die direkte Fehlermeldung:

Habe die gleiche Beobachtung wie Juri. Nextcloud wird als nicht installiert angezeigt und Nextcloud wird auch nicht bei Vollautomatische Updates angezeigt. Allerdings funktioniert die Nextcloud, Kachel ist da, Daten sind da.

Musste mich allerdings einmal in der Nextcloud abmelden und dann über das Portal neu starten, danach klappt der Zugriff auf die Nextcloud Daten wieder.

Habe dann versucht, die Nextcloud über den Button zu installieren, erhalte aber folgenden Fehler:

Not enough free RAM. Required: 500 MB, Free: -1 MB

htop zeigt jedoch nur eine RAM Belegung von ca 4GB, 8GB sind zugeordnet.
Dann den Schalter für ignorieren gedrückt und es geht weiter..
Allerdings war das anscheinend keine gute Idee, denn jetzt komme ich nicht mehr aufs Portal. Fehler:

Anscheinend gibt es ein Problem mit dieser Website
Firefox kann sich nicht mit dem Server auf portal.int.de verbinden

Also weder aufs Portal, noch auf cloud.int.de oder immich.int.de usw. Und nun? Gut, dass es eine Test Instanz ist…

Update

Hab mir nach meiner eigenständigen “Nachinstallation” von Nextcloud mal das Caddyfile angeschaut und da waren jetzt natürlich 2 Einträge für die Nextcloud vorhanden. Nachdem ich den “alten” Eintrag gelöscht habe, kann ich das Portal und alle Anwendungen wieder aufrufen. Dass im Admin und Update die installierte Nextcloud nicht angezeigt wird, ist noch genauso wie vor der Caddy Änderung..

Danke für die Hinweise, die Nextcloud ist schon noch installiert, nur erkennt er das gerade nicht, aber absolut nicht so wild, können wir schnell fixen, Ihr solltet da am besten nichts “umstellen”, das erkennt er dann bald automatisch wieder.
Das mit der RAM Belegung ist ein guter Hinweis, danke, dass das wohl nicht bei jeder Maschine durchläuft.

Habe gerade auch bei mir geschaut, bei mir erscheint NC auch nicht, aber Jean kümmert sich denke ich in den heutigen Livestream (auf Twitch in Englisch: LinuxOrt) drum.

NACHTRAG: Der Anzeigefehler wurde gefixed.
